Bridget Minamore, playwright, has founded the Critics Colour Collective in order to bring light to playwrights of color in the U.K. “When I started writing about theatre, I realised quite quickly how few people of colour there were critiquing theatre and that was quite depressing. I know lots of people of colour in theatre, but almost all of them are actors. After that you get writers and directors, and perhaps you get people who are working behind the scenes in administration, but broadly there is no one writing about theatre from an outside perspective,”(Minamore, Bridget, 2018). Her response sums up why I feel this is pertinent. It is important to bring to light the voices of those that often go unheard, namely the voices of people of color and women.
